Worried about how to communicate with your project team?
Fear you won’t get what you want in your future home, or that you’ll feel out of control of your project progress?
Learn the five modes of communication to be effective and successful with your project team and your progress overall.
In this episode, our 194th episode, I want to take you through something that will not only help you in your project, but in lots of other areas in your life as well.
And it’s something I learned many, many years ago, and I still use to this day.
What is it? Well, it’s a really powerful communication model, and it’s super simple to remember and use.
This is the thing: good quality, effective communication is super critical in your renovation and building project.
You’re working with a team, you’re dealing with professionals, you’re needing to convey your own wishes, wants, feedback, input. And if your communication isn’t clear and well understood, you can get off track, make expensive mistakes, and also experience a lot of stress.
And all these professionals you’re working with?
They’re not necessarily great communicators by nature.
Communication is not something specifically trained in the university degrees or trade apprenticeships of the team members you’ll be working with, and yet it is so essential to things going well, everyone getting along, and you getting the home you hope for at the end of it all.
In this episode, you’ll learn about how to communicate with your project team, and use a strategy I was taught by Executive Coach, Josie Thomson, many (many) years ago.
When you understand more about these modes of communication and what they mean, you’ll see how they can impact the progress of your project.
Plus you’ll also see how, with one simple question, you can change the direction and type of communication being used with your project team … and get progress back on track as well.

Welcome back. I have missed you. I have told our builder about you and your pod casts and again I will chat to him about the above the line method especially once we start the actual renovation. Thanks you so much for your support with the pod casts.

Hey Clare,
Thank you for telling your builder and for listening! I love hearing from those in the industry who’ve had clients share Undercover Architect with them. It’ll be great for you to establish this as the way you communicate – it can be so effective for teams to be on the same page with this. I hope it helps you feel more confident in your project too.
