Learn more for your renovation or new build project, as Jesse Clarke, Innovation and R & D Manager at Pro Clima Australia, takes us through the updates.
This episode is part of a special series on the National Construction Code, and NCC 2022.

Hello! This is episode 292, and in it, I’m continuing my conversation with Jesse Clarke, Innovation and R&D Manager at Pro Clima.
If you haven’t listened to Part 1 yet, be sure to head to Episode 291, where you’ll hear Jesse provide a really great foundational understanding of building science and moisture management in our homes, and what to be aware of. You can also download a free PDF transcript by heading to www.undercoverarchitect.com/291.
In this episode, Jesse talks about the NCC2022 updates and his thoughts on them, and what he thinks is missing and you should be aware of to ensure you don’t create those unintended consequences!
We’ll learn more about how to detail roofs and walls, and why you can’t rely on your external cladding to make your home weather resistive.
Plus you’ll get some great tips on how to discuss this with your team, especially your builder, and you’ll learn key things to do in your project to ensure your building system works for your climate and its humidity.
Now, let’s dive in!
Let me remind you about Jesse Clarke and Pro Clima.
Jesse Clarke has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. He holds the technical lead role of the Innovation and R & D Manager at Pro Clima, servicing Australia and New Zealand. Jesse is an active advocate for a holistic approach to the development of industry guidance, standards and codes.
Pro Clima operates across the globe in more than 40 countries, and enables healthy living conditions by protecting building structures from external and internal moisture damage.
Their extensive range of high-performance weathertightness and airtightness systems help to create draught-free, long lasting and low allergen emitting surroundings for families, schools and businesses.
Be sure to check out the downloads on the Pro Clima website for more information and help.
And yes, there are other companies that make building wraps and membranes. I’ve just never found any of them to be as helpful, clear and thorough in the education and information they disseminate as Pro Clima is – hence why we’re talking about them in this and the last episode.
Loads of our builder members in Live Life Build have actually upskilled themselves over the past 12 months in Pro Clima wraps, in preparation for these NCC2022 updates, and they’re doing this in conventional construction. My HOME Method members are similarly ensuring that they specify Pro Clima, based on what’s needed for their climate.
So, Pro Clima isn’t exclusive to Passive House design and construction. It is being used regularly in conventional construction in all types of projects. Check out their website for more information, details and help.
Let’s jump into Part 2 of my conversation with Jesse.

Hey Amelia, great podcasts which I listen to while driving. Hence, the PDF’s are really helpful to revise what has been discussed. However, the PDF’s do not download on the last two podcasts, 291 and 292, both of which have been exceptionally useful.
No problems with other PDF’s.
Any chance of cranking the machine to deliver the PDF’s please?
Many thanks.
